2A / 218 Leitchs Rd, Brendale, Brisbane

EXTERIOR

The body of the van has a machine riveted aluminium frame. It’s all insulated, of course, and the outside cladding is aluminium composite.

Suspension is 4500kg Cruisemaster ATX Airbag with Disc brakes.

The van is fitted with a Crim safe insert style entry door, and external lighting is certainly a feature of the Stargazer, with not only the normal lighting on the nearside but two LED bars back and front.

The roof is a single piece fibreglass hail resistant top.

External storage is another feature of the Stargazer with tunnel boots front and rear, along with a large alloy checkerplate storage box on the drawbar.

Some of it is dedicated for items like the external slide-out kitchen at the front but there’s plenty of capacity. The Stargazer comes complete with 2 x 95L water tanks and an extra 62L Drinking water tank coupled to a 100L Grey water tank.

Outside living under the awning really isn’t a problem with the slide-out kitchen being well-equipped with sink, cooktop and barbecue. There’s the requisite fold-out picnic table plus an entertainment unit with TV mounting and external speakers along the wall.

Electrically, this is a very well-equipped van.  480AH Lithium batteries, managed by an Enerdrive battery management system with 3000W inverter and three 250W Solar Panels.

INTERIOR

One of the products of this layout is the large  kitchen which has lots of bench space. Optional layouts feature club lounge at one end with a mid ensuite, or the more conventional mid kitchen with lounge on the opposite side. All Stargazers come fitted with an Enerdrive battery management system.

Both the 224ltr Compressor fridge and Swift four-burner cooktop/grill/oven are fitted on the opposite side. Induction cooktops are also available. What this kitchen layout allows for is plenty of cupboard, drawer and overhead locker space. Cooks who like to travel with plenty of food will have no problems here.

Bathroom space isn’t really an issue, with the split bathroom having a good-sized shower cubicle on the nearside and toilet/washroom and laundry on the offside. It’s all very well-appointed with a ceramic washbasin, good-sized towel rail, powerpoints, vent hatches and window.
All our cabinetry is interlocking, designed for off road use and all drawers and cupboards have locking catches.

CHASSIS

Caravans are, by their nature, usually pretty solid objects to start with, but what sets the Stargazer apart from many in the crowd is its tough shape and purposeful air. Standard is the 4500kg Cruisemaster ATX Airbag Suspension with Disc Brakes…the best there is!

It looks beefy and strong right off the bat; it has a waistline of black alloy checkerplate, common in many offroad vans. And that’s not to mention the other offroad essentials like the DO45 hitch, mesh stoneguard at the front and jerry can holders at the rear.

So does the Stargazer live up to its name? As always with such vans, I started with what lies underneath. And due to its high ride height as an offroad van, it was quite easy to delve underneath. The 150x50mm (6x2in) RHS rails used for the drawbar and dual chassis rails are upspec standard for this type of van and the Independent trailing arm suspension with coil springs and Airbag with electric controls. Braking is no problem with disc brakes allround.

There are three concealed water tanks – 2x95L (fresh) 1 x 62L (fresh) and 1x100L (grey).

This rugged van will take you where you want to go.
